Stillship changelog.

What changed in the product.

Failing apps take a break

Apps that fail their daily check three times in a row now pause themselves: their pages stay online with their existing releases, but they stop consuming daily checks and filling the review queue until an admin resumes them, which puts them back at the front of the next check.

Checks finish on slow apps

Every external call in a release check now runs on a hard time budget - changelog fetches, AI judging and insight generation - and the daily job processes apps one at a time inside a fixed window instead of parallel batches, so apps with heavy pages or slow responses complete their check and write their result instead of silently stalling the whole run.

Known feeds take priority

When a product's changelog page only yields entries without readable dates, the collector now falls back to the product's known feed (RSS, Atom or JSON) instead of freezing on the newest date it could parse, so apps like Figma stay current instead of stuck on an old release.

Repaired apps check first

Apps waiting for a successful collection (new apps, repaired sources, or apps recovered after an incident) now go to the front of the daily check queue instead of rejoining at the back, so repairs show up on their pages the same day instead of days later.

Cleaner GitHub releases

GitHub sources are now read through the official Atom feed first, and automation tags (repo-sync, viable/strict, managed- deploy tags) are filtered out as noise; fake releases already stored are removed on the next daily check.

Feed hides removed apps

The homepage feed, search and RSS feeds now only list releases from active apps: entries from removed apps no longer show up or link to dead pages.

More aggressive edge caching

Public pages now stay fresh at the edge much longer: app pages up to 2 hours, homepage, stats and collection pages 30 minutes, RSS feeds 30 minutes, and the changelog and collection pages are now cached at all. Fewer database reads and faster loads, with same-day stale-while-revalidate as a safety net.

Public stats page

A new /stats page shows live platform numbers: apps tracked, releases indexed, releases from the last 7 and 30 days, alert subscribers, and the most active apps of the last 30 days.

Typo-tolerant search

Search now falls back to close matches when nothing matches exactly: misspellings and missing accents still land on the right app, with a did-you-mean note.

Tidier footer

The footer now reads stillship - Changelogs, without the noise. with proper spacing, and its links wrap onto their own clean line on small screens instead of cramming together.

Dynamic meta descriptions

Meta descriptions now reflect live content: the homepage names the tracked-app count and latest ships, search pages quote the query, and app pages summarize their latest release and shipping cadence.

Proper app names

New apps now take their name and address from the submitted site or GitHub repository instead of the discovered source host, so apps tracked through GitHub releases no longer show up as Github or merge into a single entry.

OpenGraph share image

Shared links now render a preview card: every page carries og:image and Twitter card tags pointing to a minimal 1200x630 image with the ship and the wordmark.

Pagination and a proper 404

The feed and collection pages now paginate 100 releases at a time with Newer and Older links, and unknown URLs get a real barebone 404 page instead of plain text.

Ship logo and favicon

A small black-and-white pixel-art ship now serves as the favicon and sits next to the wordmark in the header.

Automatic app screening

A daily job now picks trending apps from Hacker News and GitHub, filters out list and course repos, verifies real releases through GitHub Atom feeds, and tracks up to 20 new apps per day. Admins can also paste URLs in bulk and repair stale sources from /admin.

Feed titles link to the source

Each release title in the feed and in search now opens the original release page in a new tab. The app name still opens its Stillship page.

Historical release insights

Older releases now receive short factual AI insights in a capped daily backfill, without blocking release collection.

Automatic source discovery

Stillship now finds changelogs through homepage links, feeds, GitHub releases, sitemaps, common paths and validated subdomain discovery.

Release signals and collections

App pages now show release cadence, last ship, activity trend and breaking-change rate. New AI, developer-tool and most-active collections are live.

Web push alerts

Readers can subscribe to app-specific release alerts with standards-based Web Push.

Security and private review

SSRF guards, bounded fetches, rate limits, Turnstile and a private low-confidence review flow protect submissions.

Stillship V2 launched

The changelog hub moved to Cloudflare Workers and D1 with daily full-base collection, RSS, search and a deliberately barebone interface.
